TVS Apache RR 310 Preview

The heavily anticipated Apache RR 310 from TVS will be launched on 6th December, 2017. The TVS Apache RR 310 (Yes! That is the official name of the bike) was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo held in Greater Noida as the Akula concept and is based on the BMW G 310 R, sharing the same engine and frame. We already know much about the bike such as the 313 cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine will make 34 bhp and churn out a peak torque of 28 Nm. The power will be transferred to the wheels via a six-speed transmission and a final chain drive.

One of the prominent differences in the concept version and production model will be the use of carbon fibre seen on the prototype. Bike’s fairing, panels and fuel tank were built of carbon fibre in the concept version, which will be missing in the production model to cut down on the pricing. While most of the styling cues will be retained, the company could instead use light-weight aluminium on the bike to bring down overall weight. The concept model shown at Expo featured a host of equipment such as USD forks, radial callipers aluminium sub frame, cast alloy swing arm, stiff space frame chassis, digital console and steering damper, hence we may see some of these in the production model. For a prudent braking experience, TVS may equip dual channel ABS on the bike.

The prowess will most likely get the same engine as seen on the BMW G310R good for 34bhp and 28Nm, but power figure may vary as TVS might tune the engine.
