With just under 16 weeks to go until Christmas day, attention will be focused on what this year’s must have toy will be – with one high street retailer shortlisting a lifelike doll.
Many parents will be thinking about ordering gifts for Christmas and the Luvabella doll is believed to be one of the most sought after toys of the year, according to superstore Argos.
Last year’s must have toy was The Hatchimal but the realistic looking Luvabella not only reacts when spoon fed or given her soother, she also plays peek-a-boo, loves being tickled and comes with a miniature cuddly toy she can play with.
Manufactured by SpinMaster, the doll, which requires batteries, is capable of over 100 words and phrases and the more you play the more she learns.
However, there might be a sharp intake of breath as the doll, which is suitable for three years to 15 years, retails at between £99.99 and £114.99, is to come in a range of ethnicities. Boys will not miss out either, as they can play with a male version too.
Smyths Toy store have a pre-order service for the popular toy, so parents can prepare for Christmas early and avoid missing out.
All eighty-eight of its UK stores all show the doll as out of stock, with a message saying they expect to get the toy back in stock on Sunday, October 1.
Rival store The Entertainer are showing the doll will be back in stock online on Tuesday, September 26.
Other stores are expected to also stock the highly anticipated toy although release dates are yet to be announced.[“Source-grimsbytelegraph”]
