Hewlett-Packard (HP) will reportedly introduce a smartphone powered by Windows 10 next year. Being termed as the “HP Falcon” flagship smartphone, we might get a glimpse of the device at the Mobile World Congress 2016.
According to a report by Bidnessetc, the device is likely to sport a 5.8 inch QHD display and will be powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset paired with 2 GB RAM. It is said to have an internal storage of 64GB and will most likely feature a 20MP rear camera along with a 12MP front facing camera. The smartphone will run Windows 10 and is said to be a ‘notch better’ than the recently launched Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL.
According to previous reports, shares of HP, which houses former Hewlett-Packard Co’s legacy hardware business, plunged 16.3 percent in November after the company’s lackluster results fueled concerns about its ability to weather a slowdown in the printer and PC markets. HP Chief Executive Dion Weisler called the printing business a “much greater challenge” than the PC business. The company has been cutting printer prices to tackle stiff competition, particularly from Japanese printer makers Canon and Epson.
