Good Samaritan’s Ministry of Claremore will be hosting a “Christmas in July” toy drive and open house this month to kick off their annual drive for Christmas toys for less fortunate children.
“The Good Samaritan Ministry (GSM) is a cooperative ministry of Claremore area churches, one which serves those in need through a food pantry, clothing closet, and utility assistance,” explained Kendra Cagle, GSM volunteer. “The ministry also hosts an annual Christmas toy drive every year for those families that need a little extra help to provide a complete Christmas for their children.”
This year’s drive kicks off from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, July 29 in the Good Samaritan Ministry building in Claremore.
Guests and attendees who are encouraged to help the drive by bringing a new, unwrapped toy, will have the chance to be given facility tours as the event also will serve as an open house. Refreshments will be provided, and guests will have the opportunity to shop the GSM’s clothing closet during a $5 bag sale.
“We’re hoping people come out and enjoy a little Christmas cheer during the hottest months of the year and do their part to make a local child’s Christmas merry this year,” she said.
Good Samaritan Ministry is located at 715 State Highway 88 in Claremore. For directions or more information, call 918-343-4357.
