Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) Leaked in Press Images

The anticipated successor to the popular Samsung Galaxy J1, tipped to be called the Galaxy J1 (2016), has once again been leaked in images on the Web. While in the previous leaks we have seen the unannounced smartphone in its Black colour variant, the new leaked image shows the handset in two additional colour variants.

The image tweeted by @evleaks on Monday shows the Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) smartphone in Gold and White colour variants. The design of the handset also fall in line with the models leaked in images previously. It is worth mentioning that the screen bezel seen in the image stay black in all the three colour variants.

The smartphone is seen featuring a physical home button, along with a multi-window, and a back capacitive button on either side. At the back, the smartphone sports a camera at the centre with a LED flash and a speaker on either sides. Samsung is yet to announce the smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy J1 (2016) leaked in images last month as well. While one image showed the smartphone’s display with its name, the second image showed the back panel removed, revealing the model number, removable battery, dual-SIM card slots, and a ‘Made in Vietnam’ tag.

As per the recent rumours, the Galaxy J1 (2016) will feature a 4.5-inch display as compared to the 4.3-inch on the Galaxy J1. The display resolution will stay the same at WVGA (480×800 pixels). In addition, the upcoming device will pack a 1.3GHz quad-core Exynos 3457 processor under-the-hood, clubbed with 1GB RAM and Mali-720 GPU. It is worth mentioning that Samsung has not yet announced the Exynos 3457 processor. The smartphone will run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box and will come with dual-SIM support as well. It is said to sport 8GB of built-in storage.

For reference, the Android 4.4.4 KitKat-based Samsung Galaxy J1 is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz processor coupled with 512MB of RAM. On the camera front, the Galaxy J1 (2016) is said to feature a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front facing camera – the same as the Galaxy J1.
