Charotar University of Science and Technology (CHARUSAT) is organizing a workshop on French language.

During the nine-days long workshop that began on December 7, Kalpesh Patel, a renowned expert of French language is providing functional knowledge of the language to the students.

Keeping in mind the increasing demand of French language across the globe, the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences under Faculty of Management Studies in Indukaka Ipcowala Institute of Management (I2IM) is offering the course on French language consisting of two credits in their curriculum.

It is worth noting that, according to the report of OIF – ‘La langue francaise dans le monde’ in 2010, French is one of the very few languages spoken all over the world, ranked the sixth most widely spoken language.

“There are currently over 220 million French speakers worldwide in which Europe accounts for 39.87%, sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean for 36.03%, North Africa and the Middle East for 15.28%, America and the Caribbean for 7.66% and Asia/Oceania for 1.16%,” a release issued by CHARUSAT said.

“The learning of French Language will provide a platform and will prove to be an asset for the students in their future who aspire to immigrate abroad,” said Dr Govind Dave, dean of Faculty of Management Studies and principal of I2IM.
